A Mind-Body (Neurobiological) Approach to Therapy

My approach to helping you solve your problems and heal your pain is based on advanced training in mind-body and neurobiological approaches.

As I get to know you, our work will be tailored to your particular concerns and goals.  Whatever your struggles, I'll help you connect with the wisdom in your body to help you heal.

Often, exploring and working with difficult or traumatic events (recent or in the past) is integral to healing.

When you experience a difficult or traumatic event, the effects of that event can leave your nervous system unable to regulate your body functions (sleep or digestion, for example), balance your emotions, modulate fear, and attune to others.

In my approach to therapy, I work with you to bring your nervous system back into balance so that you can move toward feeling emotionally and physically whole and healthy.

Over time, you will become more responsive and less reactive to events, people and your environment. You'll understand yourself and others more clearly. You'll feel less vulnerable and emotionally stronger.

I begin by focusing on creating a safe, trusting and empathic relationship with you.

I'll help you make sense of what is happening for you. I'll help you build on your strengths. I'll hold the hope for you if you become discouraged.

We'll work together to help you heal.

Eventually, you'll be better able to understand and manage your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors so that you feel calmer, happier and freer to be your authentic self.

Life will become easier.

You'll be more optimistic and feel more secure and confident.

Take a step towards the life that perhaps you've only dreamed about having.

If you do, I'll dedicate my caring and skills to helping you connect with your beauty, wisdom, strength, balance, humour, compassion, passion and capacity to heal.

You may be surprised at how good your life can be.
